Creamy Dark Chocolate Almond Smoothie

This smoothie doubles as a healthy dessert. Still sometimes you just need something special for breakfast or a mid-day snack. Lots of antioxidants in this one!

Equipment

  • 1 Vitamix or Blender

Ingredients

  • cup Greek yogurt or dairy free yogurt
  • 2 tbsp almond butter
  • ½ cup milk or dairy free milk gf milk substitute if needed
  • 2 tbsp (heaping) unsweetened cocoa powder, gf
  • ½ large frozen banana or 1 small frozen banana
  • ¼ cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 teaspoon Flavorganics Organic Hazelnut Extract, gf
  • 2 tbsp 72% dark chocolate chips, gf
  • 1 tbsp protein powder, gf optional
  • chocolate pieces, chopped toasted almonds, berries and/or whipped cream to top

Instructions

  • Add the ingredients to a Vitamix or blender. Blend together or pulse until smooth. Top with chopped almonds, or chopped chocolate, whipped cream and berries.
