Ingredients

  • cups heavy cream
  • 1 ⅜ cups half and half
  • ½ cup organic cane sugar or other white sugar
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • ½ cup roasted or roasted and salted pistachios, finely chopped or coarsely ground
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (omit if using salted pistachios)
  • cup pistachios, roasted or roasted and salted, finely chopped to top the ice cream

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, stir together the sugar, maple syrup, cream, milk, salt (if using unsalted pistachios), and ground pistachios. Refrigerate for 2-4 hours before processing according to ice cream maker's instructions for processing. Enjoy immediately or spoon into a container and freeze for 1-2 hours for a firmer texture.
