We’re starting to get anxious for fall flavors! Pumpkin and spice flavors are some of my favorite flavors. Although it’s getting close to September, we’ll still be having some summer-like weather the next few months! That will not stop us from enjoying all the fall flavors, like this Pumpkin and Spice Fall Smoothie! This is one of my top smoothies!

Pumpkin and Spice Fall Smoothie
I love cinnamon and ginger and pumpkin!
Smoothie variety

I start many of my days with smoothies, so I like to have a variety of flavors to keep it exciting. The list is long of the many fruits and veggies I use, depending on what’s in season and what’s in the fridge or pantry.

Adding in healthful ingredients and protein packed ingredients like coconut water, plain yogurt, nuts or nut spreads, seeds, are just a few of those I rotate in. I also add on some days both or just one, collagen (GF) and/or protein powder (GF).

Do you have some favorite smoothie recipes or ingredients? Today I made one I like for fall is nearing or we are in the fall season. It had been quite drizzly, almost like light rain today, so our Pumpkin and Spice Fall Smoothie came back into our life!

So our Pumpkin and Spice Fall Smoothie hit the menu here! Loaded with yummy ginger and cinnamon, pumpkin and yogurt. Then we throw a small carrot or a half of a large one into this for even more vitamins.

Breakfast or lunch smoothies

Smoothies make some of the best breakfasts for me. They fill me up and give me lots of energy. They just have to contain enough protein in them. Then I can go until lunch no problem without needing something else. They also satisfy the sugar craving, with fruit sugar, which is a much better choice for me.

Of course, I’d be perfectly content to have a smoothie or smoothie bowl for lunch too. Or acai. Acai is always a welcome lunch or breakfast!

Other favorite smoothies

I’m certain we all have our favorites as far as smoothies go. Some of mine are on repeat over and over again. Here’s one of those: Vibrant and Healthy Orange Creamsicle Smoothie (Gluten Free). It’s a good one! Loaded with vitamin c and flavors of my childhood summers at the local pool, eating 50/50 orange creamsicle bars!

This is a summery fresh smoothie ~ don’t worry, you can enjoy it all year long!

Some of the smoothie concoctions are not worth repeating, of course.

But here’s another which I love. You could even make this one dessert if you like! Our Creamy Dark Chocolate Almond Smoothie (Gluten Free). Oh, it’s so good!

Whatever smoothie you are making, whether our Fall Smoothie or another favorite, what ingredients do you love?

I typically look for lots of fresh or frozen ingredients for smoothies, making sure there is some protein also. I also use all gluten free products in the making of mine.

Gluten free spices??

I know for many of you who have an allergy or even some with celiac disease, that looking for gluten free or gluten free certified spices is not something you need. If that’s true of you, please disregard my notations for gluten free, whether certified or labeled, or stated on the product website.

I have found that I need to be this careful, with spices, dried packaged herbs, nuts, cocoa powder, chocolate, candy, vanilla, dairy free milk alternatives, and ice creams. So my recipes note those things that many people overlook which need to be gluten free for contamination.

As far as gluten free spices go, McCormick single ingredients spices or herbs are all gluten free per their website. Most of my pantry is loaded with these McCormick spices and herbs. Sometimes I need one which is certified, and I usually go with Spicely Organics. Morton & Basset spices are also certified gluten free. These are all brands I trust and have in my kitchen.

Gluten free chocolate chips, chocolate bars, and cocoa powders

For chocolate bars or chocolate chips, I find it’s pretty easy to find gluten free labeled or certified. This even includes a few of the chocolate chips brands I love, Guittard being one and Trader Joe’s 72% Cacao Dark Chocolate Baking Chips being another.

For chocolate bars, I love and often grab Endangered Species. They have great products and nice flavors and all of their bars are certified gluten free.

I’ll start with the lowest priced options for gluten free cocoa powder. Hershey’s Cocoa 100% Cacao Natural Unsweetened Cocoa is labeled gluten free. Hershey’s Cocoa Special Dark 100% Cacao Cocoa Powder is also labeled gluten free.

Guittard makes great cocoa powders as well, which are gluten free. Check out their Cocoa Rouge Cocoa Powder, Unsweetened, which is both peanut free and gluten free.

Another favorite brand of mine, Anthony’s also has a few options for gluten free cocoa powder. One is their Organic Cocoa Powder, Gluten Free, Non GMO Unsweetened. They also make an Organic Culinary Grade Cocoa Powder, Dutch Processed, Gluten Free, Non-GMO Extra Rich Cocoa Powder. Check out these for some great options.

For nuts, there are a few brands I love that state the allergens. Most nuts are not labeled gluten free, but you can verify that there is no wheat or gluten allergen listed. This is what I look for, checking every label for possible contamination.

We can talk more about this later but for now, I hope you enjoy this Pumpkin and Spice Fall Smoothie! Please message me on Instagram or on my website if you have questions on gluten free products.
