Vibrant and Healthy Orange Creamsicle Smoothie (Gluten Free)

169

Smoothies have been a huge part of my morning routine lately. It’s such an easy way to get lots of servings of fruit and vegetables as well as lots of protein and calcium, too. Now with this Vibrant and Healthy Orange Creamsicle Smoothie, it almost feels like dessert for breakfast!

Fruits and vegetables balanced with protein

Once upon a time, I loved Jamba Juice smoothies. They can be loaded with added sugars and ice cream, though, so you have to be careful! Now, although they do have better choices, I can make a healthy and just as delicious smoothie at home. I can also verify that it is gluten free and free of any gluten contamination.

Lately, I’ve found that a smoothie with protein, vegetables, and some fruit is the perfect gluten free breakfast for me. I feel plenty full until lunchtime, plus I get several of my fruit and vegetable servings in. The smoothie always contains protein, which is a must for me in the morning.

Some of my favorite smoothies include ingredients like pureed pumpkin or frozen pineapple, spinach, kiwi, Greek yogurt, and nut butters. Here’s another favorite smoothie of mine, Refreshing and Healing Smoothie.

Choose to add a protein powder in

There are so many options for ingredients. You can add a gluten free protein powder to this Vibrant and Healthy Orange Creamsicle Smoothie, also, for even more protein. There are many gluten free protein powders out there, whether you want whey protein, or almond protein, or from another source. Many of the protein powders available are also dairy free. While some protein powders are flavored, others are unflavored.

For an unflavored plant based almond protein, check out Anthony’s Almond Protein Powder. Its not only unflavored, but it’s also with no added sugars, and Non-GMO. They also make another plant based protein powder, Anthony’s Pumpkin Seed Protein Powder. Organic and Cold-Pressed, this protein powder is simply just pumpkin seed protein powder, with no fillers and no additives.

Keeping plenty of fresh and frozen fruit on hand

Since a smoothie is my breakfast lately, I keep lots of fresh and frozen fruit, along with greens, pumpkin, carrots, fresh ginger, lemons, and limes on hand. Keep a small bag of frozen bananas cut into halves in the freezer. Replenish as needed.

Add seeds or dried fruits to create different smoothie variations.

I love coming up with different smoothie variations since I have one almost every day. This newest Vibrant and Healthy Orange Creamsicle Smoothie is a new favorite!

Enjoy!
