The Bloody Pineapple Cocktail

We’re always trying to come up with cocktails I can when I’m out, because grain alcohol affects me, even though there is some debate this. We make our own limoncello here which is quite fun! I kept trying to have a tiny sip of it (years ago now). It would always give me the absolute worst Gerd and heartburn ever. We started looking for alcohol that doesn’t contain grain and we use those for my cocktails and cooking now.

It’s a bit harder to order a drink, though, when you are out at a restaurant. Usually drinks on menus are made with specific brands of alcohol. Bartender’s sometimes don’t like special requests, I’ve found. And sometimes we just aren’t familiar with a particular brand. So, usually I end up with a prosecco sparkling wine or possibly a margarita. Still, I’m super happy with that if it means I don’t have to feel ill.

At home, we buy a few things like Tito’s and Mount Gay Rum that I like to use in my drinks. Usually agave made tequilas are fine too. Cointreau, Patron, Grand Marnier Liqueur, and many others are gluten free and don’t contain grain.

The Bloody Pineapple Cocktail
